There was not much of a land breeze over night as only two stations had the wind shift (Baytown and Mont Belvieu.) Background levels are slightly higher today. Wind will remain from the southeast during the day, picking up in the afternoon. Surface conditions are similiar to those yesterday. I expect clouds to begin developing during the late morning hours and scattered thunderstorms in the early afternoon. North Texas has a chance of getting some hit and miss storms due to the cold front which is currently firing up storms in Oklahoma.

Afternoon winds will have more of an easterly or even northeasterly component in response to the high pressure in Oklahoma. Wind speeds should be comparable to wind speeds today. Scattered thunderstorms are likely as moisture at the surface and at mid-levels is expected to remain high.

The cold front will stall in central Texas. With the high pressure north of Houston, winds look to have a northerly component, bringing in continental air. There will be a better chance of widespread high ozone values.
